Players resume the role of the god of Destruction from the first game in the series and are tasked with excavating dungeons and balancing the monster ecosystem that fills it. Players use the in-game pick ax to dig the tunnels of their dungeons and Badmans Chamber Mode to experiment cultivating monsters utilizing the environment and mana without interference from meddlesome heroes. After monsters have been grown they can be placed strategically along dungeon passages to do adventure theme with the heroes that are bound to invade and confound the contraptions that they bring.
