Theres no difference playween them. Question: Right now would it be worth it to just send my joycon into nintendo for free or pay for this thing again? Answer: I would buy this and get it next day. Ive had a joy con fixed from Nintendo and had to send them then whole joy-con to fix. Unless you have another set. Question: i have bad joy con drift. is this a good solution or would i be playter off just getting new joy cons? Answer: If you are willing to take the joy cons apart and follow along with a Youtube video  replacing them is fairly easy. I had to change out two of mine because of drift  and this solved it. They are still working well with no issues  and its been about 4 months now. Personally I would try this first because of how much joycons cost.
